About Harvest/ Steve French

I’m happy you’ve stopped by my site and look forward to helping you manage the resources God has entrusted to you. My calling is to help people of different walks of life set attainable financial goals, establish a game plan, implement the plan, put systems in place to monitor the plan, help you stay accountable to the plan and prosper as God wants you to!

I’ve been in the financial advisory business for over 30 years now, at first starting and managing financial planning operations in credit unions, then working with the public. In my career I’ve had the chance to work with wealthy people and people of more moderate means, with people just starting out and with retired and soon to be retired folks, with executives and blue collar employees as well as entrepreneurs. I love working with a wide variety of people and serving as a connector between people of different cultures, backgrounds and circumstances.

I’ve been a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) since 1987 and take a holistic and biblically principled view of money. What does this mean? Here are some basic principles I believe in:

  1. It’s all God’s.
  2. The borrower is slave to the lender.
  3. Better to save a little at a time over a long time than to seek high returns in short time periods.
  4. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
  5. Live below your means.
  6. Give generously.
  7. Don’t feel guilty about enjoying the gifts lavished upon you.

I graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BBA in Business Administration, double majoring in Finance and Accounting. I earned an MBA from Xavier University and completed the Certified Financial Planner program at the College for Financial Planning in Denver, CO.  I passed and held FINRA Series 7, 24, 27 and 63 licensed and am a licensed insurance and annuity agent in the State of Ohio.

I have been married to Jenny French for  28 years and have four great kids. I attend Crossroads Church in Oakley where I chose to be baptized in 2006 and where I am an active volunteer in financial and other ministries. I also attend and am part of the community of Mariemont Community Church and feel so blessed to have TWO great church homes. I am also a long-time member of Kingdom Advisors, a national 501(c)(3) made up of Christian Financial Advisors from across the United States. I am currently enrolled in and progressing through the Kingdom Advisors Qualified Training program and anticipate completion, Lord willing, in 2017.
